World of Dance Netherlands Competition Season 2026/2027
On this page, you will find the most important rules, conditions, and guidelines for participating in World of Dance Netherlands 2026/2027. Please read this information carefully before registering your team.
World of Dance Netherlands works with a new competition structure consisting of two Regional Qualifiers and one WOD Netherlands Championship. This gives teams multiple opportunities to showcase their talent, grow through the process, and qualify for the highest stage within the Dutch World of Dance series.
Competition Format
World of Dance Netherlands 2026/2027 consists of three major Dutch events:
WOD NL Regional Qualifier 1
WOD NL Regional Qualifier 2
WOD Netherlands Championship
The two Regional Qualifiers are qualification rounds. During these events, teams present their performance to the judges and compete for a place at the WOD Netherlands Championship.
The WOD Netherlands Championship is the final stage of the Dutch World of Dance series. This is where the strongest teams come together to perform again, compete against other top teams, and battle for recognition, prestige, and the next step within World of Dance.
Qualification for the WOD Netherlands Championship
The WOD Netherlands Championship is not simply an open competition. Teams can only participate in the Championship if they have qualified or if they can prove that they have previously achieved a strong result within an official World of Dance competition.
To participate in the WOD Netherlands Championship, a team must meet at least one of the following requirements:
The team has participated in at least one official WOD NL Regional Qualifier within the Dutch series.
The team has been selected or invited based on its performance during a WOD NL Regional Qualifier.
The team can prove that it previously placed in the top 3 at an official World of Dance qualifier, either in the Netherlands or in another country.
Teams that have placed in the top 3 at an official World of Dance qualifier outside the Dutch series may apply for the WOD Netherlands Championship, provided they can clearly verify this result. This can be done through official results, ranking information, confirmation from the organization, or other reliable documentation.
The organization reserves the right to review submitted proof and determine whether a team is eligible to participate in the WOD Netherlands Championship.
How the Series Works
Teams have two opportunities within the Dutch series to qualify for the WOD Netherlands Championship.
The first opportunity is WOD NL Regional Qualifier 1. The second opportunity is WOD NL Regional Qualifier 2. During these qualifiers, teams present their performance to the judges and compete for a place in the Championship.
The best-performing teams from the Regional Qualifiers will be selected and invited to the WOD Netherlands Championship. This is the highest stage within the Dutch series, where the strongest teams come together again.
Teams that have previously placed in the top 3 at an official World of Dance qualifier, either in the Netherlands or internationally, may also be eligible to participate in the WOD Netherlands Championship.
From the WOD Netherlands Championship, we continue building toward the bigger international goal: World of Dance Summit in Los Angeles.
International Opportunities
World of Dance Netherlands is part of the international World of Dance community. Teams participating in the Dutch series get the opportunity to compete, gain visibility within the scene, and take steps toward international opportunities.
The WOD Netherlands Championship is the highest stage within the Dutch series. From this event, the route can continue toward international World of Dance events, including World of Dance Summit in Los Angeles.
Please note: international participation, invitations, or further opportunities depend on performance, selection, availability, World of Dance conditions, and the final assessment of the organization.

The exact judging criteria may differ per event or category and will be communicated in advance when necessary.
The decision of the jury is final. Discussions about scores, placements, or results will not take place during the event.
Props & Backstage

Props must not create danger for dancers, crew, audience members, judges, or the venue. Props must also not damage the floor, stage, or technical equipment.
Teams are responsible for setting up, using, and removing their props.
Backstage, teams must behave professionally and respectfully. Teams must always follow instructions from the organization, crew, and volunteers.
Awards & Prizes

The exact prizes, awards, and possible qualification opportunities may differ per event.
Receiving an award or placement does not automatically give a team the right to international participation, unless this is specifically confirmed by the organization.
Media Rights
During World of Dance Netherlands, photos and videos may be taken by the organization, partners, press, or hired media teams.
By participating in the event, teams, dancers, coaches, and accompanying persons give permission for this visual material to be used for promotional, commercial, and editorial purposes by World of Dance Netherlands and related channels.
Teams are responsible for informing their members, parents/guardians, and accompanying persons about these media rights.
