Rules and Regulations

Age Divisions:
Age categories:
Youth team division, Junior team division, Upper team division.
Levels:
A* and B*
* Levels may be combined if there are less than 6 teams in the lineup for any division.
Youth Team Division:
- Team has a minimum of 5 dancers
- Dancers are under 12 years of age
- A maximum of 25% of the dancers in the team may be older. The highest age of the dancer may be a maximum of 2 years older than the age category.
Junior Team Division*
- Team has a minimum of 5 dancers
- Dancers are under 18 years of age.
- A maximum of 25% of the dancers in the team may be older than 17. The highest age of the dancer may be a maximum of 2 years older than the age category.
Upper Team Division*
- Team has a minimum of 5 dancers
- Generally reserved for 18+ old dancers, however younger dancers are permitted.
Level A:
- You may choose to register your team for the A level if your team:
- Ranked top 50% at a WOD event in an A level category; or
- Ranked top 50% at a WOD event without A and B levels; or
- Has extensive experience performing on other stages or at other competitions.
- You must register for the A level if your team has previously:
- Ranked top 3 at a WOD event in an A level category, or
- Ranked top 3 at a WOD event without A and B levels; or
- Ranked top 50% at a WOD event in an A level category; or
- Won (inter)National titles or TV Shows
- You may choose to register your team in B level if:
- This is the first time your team is competing at a WOD event;
- Your team has previously competed at a WOD event and scored in the bottom 50% of the A level category.
- You must register your team in B level if:
- Your team has previously competed at a WOD event without A and B levels, and your team ranked in the bottom 50% of the lineup.
- Your team has competed in the A level and ranked in the bottom 50% 3 times in a row
- Your team has competed at a WOD event without levels and ranked in the bottom 50% 3 times in a row
Registration Process
- STEP 1: Register your team using the registration form.
- Before you start, make sure you have all your team information at hand, including:
- The full names and birthdates of each dancer;
- The full names of each choreographer or trainer;
- A publicly available video link for your audition.
- A description of any props you may use. All props must be registered and approved before being allowed on stage. Larger props must be brought inside the venue and stalled backstage before official event start times.
- Before you start, make sure you have all your team information at hand, including:
After receiving your registration form your team has entered the audition process. We will inform you shortly if you have been accepted into the line-up.
- STEP 2: Order your team tickets using the online form.
- Everyone entering the event needs a ticket, including coaches, choreographers and team captains.
- Team tickets are meant for dancers, coaches, choreographers and team captains. Audience members purchase different tickets available through our home page.
- Team tickets must be ordered by the team choreographer/coach. Ensure you know which ticket type each dancer prefers before beginning your team ticket order.
- The order must be placed for the entire team at once, dancers cannot purchase single tickets themselves.
- The ticket order must match the exact number of dancers, coaches and choreographers that were registered.
- The order must be placed 3 weeks before the event.
- You will be sent an invoice for your ticket order.
- The invoice must be paid by 2 weeks prior to the event.
- There are no refunds for cancellations or removals due to missed deadlines.
- STEP 3: Upload your music:
- Upload your mp3 file before the deadline using the upload form on the registration page.
- The deadline to upload your music is 2 weeks before the event date.
- Your audio file name should be your crew’s name. For example:mp3
- If you would like to upload a newer version, simply use the form again. We will always use the latest upload.
- Only .mp3 files are accepted as other file formats have proven unreliable in a live event setting.
- Music length:
- Youth Division: between 2:00 and 2:30 minutes
- Junior Division: between 2:00 and 4:00 minutes
- Upper Division: between 2:00 and 6:00 minutes

Online Registration must be completed at least 2 weeks before the event! - All event ticket purchases are final. There is no right of withdrawal (cooling-off period) when purchasing concert or event tickets in the Netherlands, because this falls under services with a specific performance date, for which consumer protection law provides an exception. Failure to complete registration on time will get your team removed from the lineup without right to a refund.
Pre-show Packets
To get you excited and ready to perform, the World of Dance Tour Team will provide a Talent Packet to each group’s primary contact. The packet includes your check-in time, show line-up, example score sheet, and other vital information pertaining to the event. Talent Packets will be sent out 1 week prior to the World of Dance event date.
Judges Panel & Scoring System
Curious about scoring? For each event, a panel of judges decides team scores. The Judges Panel will consist of 3-5 judges and 1-2 tabulators. All judges will meet the eligibility, training, judge skills level, and requirements set forth by the World of Dance event producers.
All judges will score each competing team based on the following criteria:

- Showmanship

- Dynamics in Movement
- Body Control
- Musicality

- Deductions:
- Music Longer than 6 minutes – .5 Point Deduction per second over time limit.
Main Stage Area & Back Stage Specs
At World of Dance events the following areas are available for dancers:
- Crossover: There is a crossover available to allow for dancers to switch between each side of the stage without being seen.
- Dancer prep area: There is an area dedicated to dancers for stretching and preparing just before taking the stage. This area is only for the next 3 dance crews due to perform. Due to the nature of the World of Dance venues, it’s impossible to offer proper dressing rooms to each of the hundreds of dancers participating in the event.
- Due to time constraints, tech rehearsals will not be permitted on the main stage.
Awards & Prizes
What’s in it for you? The fun of expressing yourself with hundreds of other dancers, the thrill of sharing your art, and of course: prizes! To celebrate the most successful performances, World of Dance will hold an Awards Ceremony after each division.
- World of Dance will award trophies to teams that place 1st, 2nd, and 3rd within each division and level.
- Additional awards will be given in each division and level for Best Theme, Best Costume, and Crowd.
- First place winners from the Junior Team Division, level A will receive €250 cash.
- First place winners from the Upper Team Division, level A will receive €500 cash.
Teams that compete at a minimum of one World of Dance Qualifier are eligible to compete at the World of Dance Finals in Los Angeles.
